Redfish
Sebastes marinus/mentella
Redfish mainly spawns south-west of Iceland and off the west coast of Norway. It is caught all year round, close to Vestmannaeyjar.
Redfish is a name for many different species of fish, three of them are especially found off Iceland: golden redfish, deep-sea rosefish and small redfish. Redfish in everyday language usually refers to golden redfish.
VSV produces two types of redfish: golden redfish and deep-sea redfish. Our redfish is sold fresh, frozen or filleted and sold fresh especially to the German and French market.
We consider ourselves experts in the handling and delivery of redfish, as we export high volumes each week, all year round. The high quality raw materials, cooling method and handling means that VSV delivers fresh loins, fillets and single frozen fillets of premium quality.
